PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image of uniform density by keeping uniform temperature distribution of a recording head while suppressing power consumption thereby ejecting ink accurately from a desired nozzle. SOLUTION: In the inkjet printer 1, a plurality of nozzles 25 in each recording head HK-HY are sectioned into a plurality of nozzle blocks NBK1-NBY2. A temperature sensor TK1-TY2 is arranged for each nozzle block NBK1-NBY2 and an alteration table specifying correspondence between the ambient temperature of each nozzle block and the pulse width of a nonrecording pulse signal is stored in a memory 35 for each nozzle block. During recording operation, a pulse width corresponding to the ambient temperature of each nozzle block is read out from each alteration table based on the temperature detected by each temperature sensor TK1-TY2 and a nonrecording pulse signal is created using the pulse width thus read out.
