PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device capable of suppressing CPU occupancy due to write access and read access. SOLUTION: The magnetic disk device has a sequencer 115 for a driver IC apart from the CPU 110. The sequencer for a driver IC receives a trigger from the CPU 110, a trigger from a sequencer 113 for a VCM (voice coil motor) or a servo mark detection signal, executes a command string stored in an RAM 115a and makes read access and write access to a driver IC 124 to thereby measuring acceleration, temperature, and counter electromotive voltage that occurs in the voice coil motor, or the like.
