PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to easily automate a manufacturing method of an airtight container. SOLUTION: A first glass base plate 10 and a second glass plate 11 constituting the airtight container are made to face each other through a prescribed gap, and a side wall frame 12 for forming an airtight space between the glass base plates is formed by painting pasty glass powder. The side wall frame has two-layered structure, which is formed by painting a pedestal member composed of glass powder as main component on the glass base plate by a dispense robot or the like and calcinating it. At this time, the shape of corner parts of the side wall frame is controlled so that the radius of curvature of the pedestal member of the second layer to be painted becomes larger than that of the painted pedestal member of the first layer, and the distortion of shape generated when calcinating the side wall frame 12 is reduced.
