PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a memory access throughput, especially a cache memory access throughput, by efficiently using channel access paths between channel I/F parts and disk I/F parts, and shared memories or cache memories. SOLUTION: The channel I/F parts 111 or disk I/F parts 112 can access the shared memory parts 114 via a selector part 113. The channel I/F parts or disk I/F parts and the selector part 113, and the selector part and the shared memory parts are interconnected by access paths 0 135 and access paths 1 136, respectively. The selector part comprises means for interconnecting a plurality of input ports from the channel I/F parts or disk I/F parts and a plurality of output ports to the shared memory parts, means for storing connection requests from the plurality of input ports to the output ports in order of arrival of the connection requests, and an arbitration means for arbitrating the plurality of connection requests and assigning the connection requests from the input ports to the output ports.
