PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of improving convenience and safety in electronic document management. SOLUTION: This electronic document management system comprises a mail server 1 performing transmission and receiving of e-mail, a management server 2 managing the system, and a plurality of information terminals 3 and 4 of clients, the mail server 1, the client terminals 3 and 4, and the management server 3 being communicably connected through a network. The management server 2 includes a mail document storage part 23 storing mail documents and a general document storage part 24 storing general documents. The client terminal 3 and 4 include application software displaying a mail document stored in the mail document storage part 23 and a general document stored in the general document storage part 24 within the same window.
