PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a 5-hydroxy-1-alkylpyrazole derivative having an electron attractive group at the 3-position with which disadvantages possessed by conventional techniques are improved and production can be carried out in good selectivity and high yield. SOLUTION: The method for producing the 5-hydroxy-1-alkylpyrazole derivative represented by general formula (3) (wherein, R<SP>2</SP>represents the electron attractive group; and R<SP>3</SP>represents a 1-6C alkyl group) is carried out as follows.
