The post (10) has an insulating device with parts arranged in a transverse slot, where the device forms insulating channels that are transversely extending via the post. The channel holds tension ropes or wires and/or belts against the post in an electrically insulated manner, where the ropes and/or belts form the fence boundary. Each of the parts has an outer section (16) extending opposite to the slot in a funnel-shaped manner, and an inner section (18) connected with a corresponding counterpart of the parts. The inner sections are insertable into the slot with the channel. An independent claim is also included for an insulating device for a fencing post. One of the inner sections of the insulating device parts is made of hard plastic material such as Teflon (RTM: Not defined).
