Apparatus for endoscopic examination of the act of swallowing comprises a blocked tracheal cannula (1). This has an aperture (4) in the curved section facing the epiglottis (3) whose edges are turned inwards. A guide tube (5) is fastened to this, its other end emerging through the proximal end of the cannula.
