A locking apparatus of a protruded glove box is provided to protect passengers by preventing the glove box from being opened even when impact is applied to the glove box upon occurrence of vehicle crash. A locking apparatus of a protruded glove box comprises a stopper ring(110) formed at one side of an opening of an instrument panel; a fixed case(90) arranged in a glove box corresponding to the stopper ring such that the stopper ring is coupled to the fixed case; a locking rod arranged in the fixed case such that the state where the stopper ring is coupled to the fixed case is maintained; a handle rotatably arranged at one side of the glove box; a link(60) interposed between the handle and the locking rod so as to convert the rotating motion of the handle into linear motion of the locking rod; an elastic member interposed between the locking rod and the fixed case; and a buffering member interposed between the fixed case and the stopper ring so as to prevent the stopper ring from being collided onto the fixed case by the vibration generated upon occurrence of vehicle crash.
