PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network system for conveniently retrieving information from a printed matter and to ensure secrecy. SOLUTION: In this network system, a network scanner, a client computer group, a network printer group, a file server group and a database server group are connected by a network repeater. Handwritten character information is detected and recognized by two-time scanning, the user is specified from the information, and a marking place is detected from a difference in the two-time scanning to extract a keyword.
