PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable imaging with a proper exposure without being affected by a flicker, even when imaging under a flickering light source. SOLUTION: From the start of photometry, exposure interruptions are periodically initiated at periods corresponding to flickering periods, and in exposure interruption processing, exposure is performed on determining that an exposure order is given. With this, the photometry and the exposure can be performed under a substantially identical luminance condition. The flickering period used in the present control, either 50 Hz or 60 Hz can be specified, depending on a region.
