PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste ink liquid absorbing body which easily absorbs waste ink discharged from a waste liquid tube even when the waste ink foams in a waste liquid tank of an inkjet recording apparatus, and to provide an inkjet recording apparatus containing the waste ink liquid absorbing body. SOLUTION: The waste ink liquid absorbing body 32 is for the waste ink tank 31 of the inkjet recording apparatus, and contains an impregnating liquid containing an anti-foaming agent at least at a part containing a contact surface with the waste ink liquid.
