PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive for a (meth)acrylic acid-based thermoplastic resin which fouls the molds little in injection molding, shows an excellent roll processability and smokes only lightly and fouls dies little during processing and a (meth)acrylic acid-based thermoplastic resin composition. SOLUTION: The additive for a (meth)acrylic acid-based thermoplastic resin contains a compound expressed by formula (1). The (meth)acrylic acid-based thermoplastic resin composition contains the additive and a (meth)acrylic acid-based thermoplastic resin. [In the formula, AO is a 2-4C oxyalkylene group; n<SB>1</SB>, n<SB>2</SB>and n<SB>3</SB>are numbers satisfying n<SB>1</SB>+n<SB>2</SB>+n<SB>3</SB>=1-20; X<SP>1</SP>, X<SP>2</SP>and X<SP>3</SP>are each a hydrogen atom or a 8-22C acyl group; and at least one of X<SP>1</SP>, X<SP>2</SP>and X<SP>3</SP>is a hydrogen atom].
