PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily realize a light and compact outer member of a constant-velocity universal joint by calculating optimum thickness for reducing weight in terms of thermal treatment, forging and strength. SOLUTION: Equipped for the constant-velocity universal joint for transmitting rotation torque while permitting angular displacement and axial direction displacement with an inner ring 22, an outer ring 21 of which outer circumference form is molded in a flower shape along its inner circumference form wherein a plurality of track parts 21a are provided at an inner circumference part 21b along an axial direction at equal spaces in a circumference direction. The ratio of an outer diameter d<SB>2</SB>of the inner diameter part 21b to an outer diameter D<SB>2</SB>of the track part 21a is 0.93 to 0.94. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
