PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker constituted so as to prevent dew formation in a heat radiating plate secured to a lid portion in an upper portion of a pot by which the usability is enhanced by effectively preventing the dew formation not only directly after cooking but also during cooking by preventing the dew formation from an early time by heating the upper portion of the pot from the early time when selecting "okayu" or rice gruel. SOLUTION: The pot 1 into which rice and water is charged is heated by a heating means 2, the upper portion of the pot 1 is heated by a lid heating means 5, the temperature of the pot 1 is sensed by a lid temperature sensing means 3, and the temperature of the upper portion of the pot 1 is sensed by a lid temperature sensing means 6. The heating means 2 is driven and controlled by a control means 7 according to the content of a menu selected by a menu selecting means 4. The control means 7 carries out heating by the lid heating means 5 prior to sensing boiling by the lid temperature sensing 6 when a "okayu" course is selected, carries out heating and stopping in a predetermined time interval by the heating means 2, senses boiling by the reduction of the changing quantity of the sensed temperatures by the lid temperature sensing means 3, and thereafter reduces the fire power of the heating means 2.
