The injector has a sleeve-shaped housing (12) and a piezo actuator unit (14) placed in the housing. The unit (14) includes fuel-leak proof sheath (50), which overlaps an axial end (18) of the unit (14) and is connected with an outer periphery of an injector head part (52) in a fuel leak proof manner. The head part includes a fuel supply passage (62), which extends from an external fuel supply (48) through the part. The passage abuts at the outer periphery of the part in a gap between the housing and the part, where the gap extends up to another axial end of the unit in the axial direction.
