PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric linear actuator improved in response and reliability by instantaneously cutting off reverse input from an output shaft. SOLUTION: This electric linear actuator comprises an electric motor 3 and a ball screw mechanism 4 mounted in parallel with the electric motor through reduction gears 5, the output shaft 6 is coaxially connected with a screw shaft 13, and a linear clutch 7 is mounted. The linear clutch 7 comprises a retaining portion 19 connected with the screw shaft 13, a pair of engagement faces 27, 28 inclined from an outer periphery of the output shaft 6 and axially opposite to each other, an inner peripheral face 29 of a guide pipe 21 in which the output shaft 6 is fitted and inserted, and double row engagement elements 25, 26 received in a wedge-shaped space 31 formed by the engagement faces and the inner peripheral face. A pin insertion hole 32 is formed on the output shaft 6, the output shaft 6 and the retaining portion 19 are connected through a transmission pin 20 engaged with the pin insertion hole at a prescribed axial clearance, and the double row engagement elements 25, 26 are energized by an elastic member 30 in the directions separating from each other to be engaged with the wedge-shaped space 31.
