PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for pumping a material such as fluid, gas, and/or a solid. SOLUTION: In this method and this device for pumping fluid, this pump is provided with a first member forming a passage in the inside and a plurality of actuators communicating with the first member and capable of being electrically extended in one exemplary embodiment, changes its shape when energy is supplied, and causes pumping operation by continuous operation of the actuators to transfer fluid through the first member.
