PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer material-designing method, by which a polymer material satisfying desired physical property value conditions and having high adaptation degree can efficiently be found in a short time or with saved labors. SOLUTION: This polymer material-designing method for determining the structure of a polymer satisfying desired physical property value conditions with a computer, having a step for inputting polymer model-making conditions and physical property value conditions, a step for using a constituting unit based on a monomer under the making conditions to form a polymer model used as an individual of a genetic algorism as a gene, and a step for computing physical property values on the made polymer model and computing adaptation degree for the physical property value conditions, is characterized by repeating a step for making the individual of the next or later generation and computing its adaptation degree to search a polymer structure having a large adaptation degree.
