PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding process for producing biologically active, dimeric TGF-β(Transformation Growth Factor typeβ)-like protein. SOLUTION: This method is for producing a dimer type biologically active,βtype transforming growth factor (TGF-β)-like protein or its salts wherein the modified monomer of the TGF-β-like protein is subjected to the folding process so that the monomeric type TGF-β-like protein is made biologically active after the dimerization and resultant folded product is treated with the folding buffer including a mild surfactant that can keep the monomer in the soluble form and organic solvents selected from the group comprising DMSO, DMSO<SB>2</SB>, DMF or two or three kinds of arbitrary organic solvent mixtures among DMSO, DMSO<SB>2</SB>and DMF.
