PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound having DPP4(dipeptidyl peptidase IV)-inhibitory activity. SOLUTION: The compound is represented by formula(I)( wherein, all of the signs mean the same as defined in the Specification ). This compound, salts thereof, its solvate, its N-oxide form or their prodrugs have DPP4 inhibitory activities, respectively. Therefore, this compound is useful as a curative and/or prophylactic agent for diabetes(e.g. Type II diabetes), obesity and the like, or as a prophylactic and/or ameliorating agent for postprandial hyperglycemia, glucose tolerance abnormalities and the like.
