PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the visibility of a display over the whole surface of a display panel, and at the same time, show a more varied game performance. SOLUTION: The game machine is provided with a display panel section constituted of a liquid crystal panel section 60 and a high molecular liquid crystal section 62, in the front section of a structure (reel) operated when an event occurs. On the back surface side of a liquid crystal panel 71, an opening section is provided at a part being equivalent to a part of the region on which an image is displayed, and a diffusion sheet 72, a light guiding plate 73 and a rear holder 74 which are light-impermeable in part other than the opening section are provided. The high molecular liquid crystal section 62 is fitted in the opening section, and a polymer liquid crystal panel 77 which can shift light between a permeable or impermeable state is provided. By making the high molecular liquid crystal panel 77 impermeable, the visibility of the image which is displayed on the liquid crystal panel 71 is made more favorable over the total surface. Then, the structure is made visible by making the high molecular liquid crystal panel 77 permeable when the event is generated, and the game performance using the structure is made possible.
