PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming apparatus in which vibrations when a rotary frame stops are absorbed and vibrations after the stop are suppressed. SOLUTION: When the rotary frame 18 stops, a projection portion 26A of a stopper 26 engages a recessed portion 56C of a driven gear 56 which is driven to rotate and the rotary frame 18 is locked. Here, a braking member 58 slides on a reception portion 56B of the driven gear 56 before the projection portion 26A engages the recessed portion 56C to brake the driven gear 56.
