PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of performing switching operation of a branch claw without having influence on paper carrying and an image on the assumption that the branch claw is driven by a stepping motor. SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided with the branch claw 8 switching paper to the first carrying guide plate 10 side and the second carrying plate guide 11 side and the stepping motor 13 driving the branch claw 8; and variably controls a rotating speed of the stepping motor 13.
