PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel information processing device capable of easily and accurately distinguishing a traveling wheel and a spare wheel, and a wheel information processing method. SOLUTION: The wheel information processing device for processing wheel information related to a plurality of wheels 14, 15 provided on a vehicle 10 comprises TPMS valves provided on the traveling wheel 14 and the spare wheel 15, and including an air pressure sensor 21a detecting tire air pressure and a temperature sensor 21t detecting the temperature of the corresponding wheel; an exhaust temperature sensor 261 obtaining temperature near a mounting part of the spare wheel 15; and an ECU 30 estimating the temperature of the spare wheel 15 on the basis of exhaust temperature obtained by the exhaust temperature sensor 261, and distinguishing the spare wheel 15 from the plurality of the wheels 14, 15 on the basis of the temperature of the estimated spare wheel 15 and temperature detected by the temperature sensor 21t of each TPMS valve 20.
