A signal section is recorded and undergoes low pass filtering. The extreme values of the low pass filtered signal section are determined. A data sequence is computed by selecting a signal cut-off section of the extreme values. Folding functions are computed from the data sequence with two vertical synchronization sequences and an ideal signal. The position of an extreme value of the folding function is determined from the signal section.
