PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for making a display section tiltable against an operation panel, and also for achieving reduction of thickness in an image reading section. SOLUTION: The multifunction device 1 comprises a scanner section 3 provided, on a document mounting table 5, with a document cover 7 constituting a portion of the upper surface of the apparatus, and an operation panel 9 having a liquid crystal display section 11 provided on the front side of the upper surface of the apparatus. The document cover 7 is provided with an ADF 6 for conveying a document from a document tray 81 to a document discharge tray 83 through a document conveyance way 82. The liquid crystal display section 11 is provided to tilt against the operation panel 9 about the front side of the apparatus as the axis. The liquid crystal display section 11 does not project above the highest position 131 of the ADF 6, and the lower end thereof on the axis 12 side does not project below the lowest position 130 of the scanner section 3 in rising posture.
