PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light quantity adjusting device which accurately performs reset operation even if phases are shifted when attaching a stepping motor for driving a light quantity adjusting member, and also to provide an imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: After performing excitation to a predetermined phase different from a reset position first, the excitation is performed to the phase of the reset position further.
