PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus where the range of selection of a combination for determining exposure is made to cope with each situation of camera shake. SOLUTION: A digital camera 100 includes a focal-distance-variable photographic lens 1113 for imaging a subject image onto a CCD solid-state imaging element 112; an angular velocity detection sensor 1101 for detecting camera shake, before photographing, thereby estimating a camera shake during photographing; and a main CPU 110 for controlling exposure according to both the result of the camera shake detection and the focal distance of the photographic lens 1113 during the photographing, by employing shutter seconds restricted within different longest shutter seconds.
