PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stereoscopic image display apparatus that can improve the subjective view of a super multi-lens area in high resolution. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with a light beam modulating means that time sequentially emits a luminous flux based on parallax image information, a scanning means that two-dimensionally scans a prescribed surface with the luminous flux from the light beam modulating means, and a light exit point arraying means that is arranged on the light scanning side of the scanning means and constituted by arraying in a prescribed direction a plurality of light emitting parts forming the light exit points. The light exit point arraying means makes the luminous flux from the scanning means having directivity and exiting in a plurality of mutually different directions from two or more light exit points, intersect with each other. Additionally, there is provided a light exit point multiplexing means that is arranged on the outgoing side of the light exit point arraying means and that forms more secondary light exit points than the above with the luminous flux from the plurality of light exit points.
