PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector which can secure a noiseless state after use, and also, which can be carried just after use. SOLUTION: A lamp cover 25 which covers a light source apparatus for a projector includes a lamp cover main body 251 and a slide member 252 which is slidably arranged. The slide member 252 can slide between an open position where the openings 2511 of the lamp cover main body 251 are opened and a closing position where the openings 2511 are closed. When the power source of the projector is turned on, the slide member is in the closing position, and when the power source is turned off, the slide member 252 slides to the open position with the energizing force of a spring part 2522. Thus, the light source apparatus is naturally cooled through the openings 2511 to be opened, consequently, it is unnecessary to continuously drive a cooling fan by a secondary battery also after the power source is turned off.
