PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical axis adjusting device of a headlight which can be easily assembled. SOLUTION: The optical axis adjusting device of the headlight comprises a light body 22, and a shaft member 35 which is turnably supported by the light body 22 to change the angle of the optical axis in the vertical direction by the turn; and further comprises a gear shaft 43 to be engaged with a rear end of the shaft member 35 so as to be orthogonal to the axial direction of the shaft member 35, an operation element (a knob 45 for operation), and a wire 44 which is connected to the operation element to transmit the rotation of the operation element to the gear shaft 43; and still further comprises a gear case 42 which is attachably/detachably mounted on the light body 22. The gear shaft 43 is rotatably supported by the gear case 42. A holding unit 71 for holding the wire 44 on one end side of the gear shaft 43 in the axial direction is provided in the gear case 42.
