PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for generating image data for printing which is suitable for generating the image data for printing by using suitable image correction processing according to visual characteristics of a printing result, and also to provide a program for generating image data for printing, and a method for generating image data for printing. SOLUTION: A printer 100 includes: an image data acquiring part 10 which acquires the image data; a region judging part 13 which carries out a color conversion process and an HS process to the acquired image data, and also judges, on the basis of a nozzle characteristic information and visual characteristic region information table, which of a plurality of visual characteristic regions composed of a plurality of regions according to visual characteristics of banding each pixel data, belongs to; an image correction method selecting part 15 which selects an image correction processing method to each pixel data on the basis of the judgment result and an image correction method table; and an image data generating part 17 for printing which generates the image data for printing by carrying out image correction processing of each pixel data with the use of the selected image correction processing method.
