A method for alarming vibration or noise in a home server is provided to effectively prevent a dispute among neighbors due to the generation of excessive vibration or noise in multi-family houses such as apartment houses. When a monitoring mode is set, a home server enables a vibration/noise detecting sensor(S11). When a vibration/noise detect signal is received from an apartment house of an upper floor(S12), the home server compares it with an allowable vibration/noise reference level(S13). If the vibration/noise detect signal exceeds the reference level(S14), the home server discriminates that an excessive vibration/noise is being generated from the upper floor(S15) and generates an alarm message for requesting a person, being in the apartment house, to control the vibration/noise(S16). The home server transmits the alarm message to a complex server installed in an apartment janitor's office or a home server of the apartment house on the upper floor(S17).
