<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for controlling output density where color shift is reduced without causing the disruption of gray balance when controlling the output density of an image forming apparatus using calibration data. <P>SOLUTION: In the system for controlling the output density of a printer 10 based on the calibration data containing a plurality of color conversion tables coordinated to respective component colors, a print controller 20 obtains the upper limit value of the density of each component color of an image formed by the printer 10 and the output density value of each component color when reproducing the color of gray of maximum density, selects one representative color from among the plurality of component colors based on the values, and reduce-controls at least part of the data values of the plurality of conversion tables according to the upper limit value of the density of the formed image with respect to the representative color to regenerate the calibration data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
