<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an image forming apparatus capable of restraining scattering of toner and banding which occurs due to a long interval after the last development, and to realize an image forming system. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an image carrier for holding a latent image; a rotatable developer carrier holding developer thereon, and used for developing the latent image on the image carrier from developer; and a controller which, in order to prevent nonuniform density when the latent image is developed by the developing device, rotates the developer carrier for a predetermined period of time as a preparation operation for the development such that the rotating speed of the developer carrier after the predetermined initial period is made higher than the rotating speed of the developer carrier for the predetermined initial period. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
