PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable determination of the position where an ink tank is mounted when the tank cannot move to the position opposite to a light-receiving part. SOLUTION: When at least one of the ink storage containers does not move to the position opposite to the light-receiving part, the position of the ink storage container mounted on a position not opposed to the light-receiving part is judged to be correct or wrong on the basis of a result of the received light emitted by an ink storage container mounted on a position adjacent to the position not opposed to the light-receiving part at the position opposite to the light-receiving part and a result of the received light emitted by an ink storage container mounted on a position not opposed to the light-receiving part at a position adjacent to the light-receiving part.
