PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a living body observation apparatus where time spent for observation of an object in a living body is shortened. SOLUTION: The living body observation apparatus comprises: an illumination means having one or a plurality of semiconductor light-emitting elements emitting illumination light for illuminating the object; an imaging means for picking up the image of the object illuminated by the illumination light emitted from the illumination means and outputting the image as an imaging signal; a color separation means for separating the image of the subject into red components, green components, and blue components; and an image processing means for carrying out prescribed processing to the imaging signal output from the imaging means and outputting it as a video signal for displaying the image to a display means. The image processing means carries out color conversion processing of converting the blue components which the imaging signal has to green components in the video signal and converting the green components which the imaging signal has to red components.
