PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content distribution system capable of solving problems in streaming reproduction, efficiently distributing contents, and protecting copyrights; and to provide a reception terminal, a content distribution method, and computer program. SOLUTION: The content distribution system 10 includes a transmission terminal 120 and a reception terminal 130 for transmitting and receiving contents by radio communication. In this system 10, when in a communicable area 200 where transmission and reception of data can be executed with the reception terminal 130, the transmission terminal 120 can distribute the contents, and when in the communicable area 200, the reception terminal 130 can reproduce the decoded contents.
