<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device, wherein an airbag having the left half side bag and the right half side bag is folded, which is encapsulated by a shape retaining sheet. <P>SOLUTION: The airbag 10 has the left half side bag 12 and the right half side bag 14 inflating respectively in the left side and the right side in front of an occupant, and a base end chamber 16 communicating these base end sides respectively. The airbag 10 is folded so that the vertical width and the longitudinal width become small, and encapsulated by the shape retaining sheet 38.
