<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aβtype copper phthalocyanine pigment having small aspect ratio and green hue and excellent in dispersibility and a printing ink containing the pigment. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a pigment composition comprises adding 20-80 wt.% ester-modified resin acid obtained by modifying a resin acid with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its anhydride and an aliphatic alcohol to a crude copper phthalocyanine and carrying out dry grinding of the mixture.
