PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latent heat storage device capable of raising temperature at an early stage in engine start and completing warming up. SOLUTION: The latent heat storage device 1 is provided with a latent heat storage material case 3 installed in a water jacket 2a1 formed in a cylinder block 2a. The latent heat storage material case 3 is divided into a plurality of storage chambers 3a-3c. The latent heat storage material 5 is filled in the storage chambers 3a-3c and a core generating devices 6 are installed respectively. Core generation phenomenon is quickly spread and the engine 2 can be efficiently warmed up by dividing the latent heat storage material case 3 into the storage chambers 3a-3c of smaller volume. Also, since the storage chambers 3a-3c has a structure divided in a stroke direction of a cylinder block 2a and piled up, difference of distribution of concentration of latent heat storage material 5 by gravity does not easily occur.
