PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make character information about data when the data is recorded as desired, to record it the same recording medium corresponding to the data, and to miniaturize an apparatus main body, in a data recording apparatus recording data in a recording medium. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with a writing means 8 for writing character information about data corresponding to the data, also the writing means 8 is separated from the apparatus main body, and is provided with a transmitting means 20 inputting the character information to be written and transmitting it, and a receiving means 21 provided integrally with the apparatus main body and receiving the character information from the transmitting means 20.
