PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cash handling device capable of maintaining crime preventiveness and strictly managing cash by opening/closing a shutter according to a situation of money amount consent of a user. SOLUTION: This bill storage mechanism comprises an upper unit performing count processing and a lower unit storing a bill. The upper unit is provided with an openable/closable temporary reservation tray provided in a temporary reservation part temporarily storing the bill to be deposited. The lower unit is provided with the openable/closable shutter for security covered with a safe-like covering member, and is disposed with an automatically or manually openable/closable bill storage box shutter provided in a bill storage box receiving the bill to be deposited.
