PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily enable an encapsulated document to be created by simple facilities. SOLUTION: A workflow system 100 is composed, in such a manner that an image input device 1 is connected to a network 10, and personal computers (PC) 2, 3 and 4 which serve as terminal devices are connected to the same network 10. When a paper document 5, which serves as a printing medium, is inserted in the image input device 1 compositing the workflow system 100, the image information described in the paper document 5 is read by the image input means of the image input device 1, and an encapsulated document file 6 is created, and transmitted to the personal computers (PC) 2, 3 and 4. The personal computers (PC) 2, 3 and 4, which have received the encapsulated document file 6 execute a processing program in the encapsulated document file 6, and perform workflow processing.
