PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-stage transmission capable of achieving a high gear ratio while obtaining a well-balanced gear ratio. SOLUTION: A first gear shift part 28 having a first planetary gear device 18 for reducing speed of rotation of an input shaft 16 at a rotational speed ratio RN1 and outputting it from a ring gear R1 is further provided with a second planetary gear device 20 to put the second planetary gear device 20 in a direct connection condition by engaging a clutch C0 so that rotation at reduced speed of the ring gear R1 is transmitted to a fourth rotation element RE4 (a sun gear S3) in a second gear shift part 30 as it is. When a clutch C1 is engaged and the second planetary gear device 20 is put in a gear shift condition, rotation at a rotational speed ratio RN2 being larger than a rotational speed ratio RN1 is generated and transmitted to the fourth rotation element RE4 in the second gear shift part 30. Rotation of the input shaft 16 and the ring gear R1 is transmitted to the second gear shift part 30 through another path by engagement of clutches C2 to C4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
