PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine start torque transmission mechanism capable of disabling a function of a bearing and separating a ring gear from a crank shaft during operation of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: Since the ring gear 10 is attached to a cylinder block 2 and an oil pan by a bearing 16, the bearing 16 functions only while the ring gear 10 is rotated by a start motor at a time of start. Consequently, it is not necessary to supply large quantity of lubricating oil to the bearing 16. Also, it is not necessary to enlarge the bearing 16 itself, and not necessary to supply a large quantity of lubricating oil. Consequently, since the bearing 16 can be sufficiently lubricated by lubricating oil of quantity supplied by only a gap 24, a lubricating oil route can be simplified, and that contributes miniaturization of the internal combustion engine whole body. Since the bearing 16 does not exist between the crank shaft 4, the ring gear 10 can be separated from the crank shaft 4 and does not receive vibration from the crank shaft 4.
