PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric cleaner with excellent handleability wherein a dust collecting case is automatically locked when it is inserted to the dust collecting case housing part of a cleaner main body, the dust collecting case is automatically elevated and taken out with small force when it is unlocked, an opening/closing lid can not be closed when the dust collecting case is not set to the dust collecting case housing part, and the opening/closing lid is automatically opened when the dust collecting case is unlocked. SOLUTION: The electric cleaner comprises: a motor-driven blower 12 installed inside the cleaner main body 1 for generating suction air; the dust collecting case 50 detachably housed in the dust collecting case housing part 2 provided on the intake upstream side of the motor-driven blower 12; an energizing means 20 for energizing the dust collecting case 50 housed inside the dust collecting case housing part 2 upwards; and a locking means 30 for keeping the dust collecting case 50 housed inside the dust collecting case housing part 2 at the position.
