PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of reducing the loss of an airflow passing through a pleated filter and suitable for miniaturization. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner is provided with a motor-driven blower, a dust separation case arranged on the upstream side of the blower and the pleated filter F. The dust separation case is provided with an airflow exit communicated with the air inlet of the motor-driven blower and an airflow passing port positioned on the upstream side of the airflow exit. The front and back surfaces of the pleated filter F are made to face the airflow passing port and the airflow exit and the pleated filter F is attached to the dust separation case. The pleated filter F is formed in a larger diameter from one end to the other end of a direction in which many pleats 48a provided in it are extended.
