<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus in which reading of image data is started quickly even if switching is made between a color image read mode and a monochrome image read mode while preventing forgery of a bill or negotiable securities. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus comprising a line buffer 23 for temporarily storing image data read out by an image reading means 3, and a means 25 for identifying whether a document image is a specific document image or not based on image data read out from the line buffer 23 and predetermined pattern dictionary data is further provided separately with a first clock generating section 26 generating a first system clock for controlling a document reading operation and an operation for writing the image data into the line buffer, and a second clock generating section 27 generating a second system clock for controlling the image data reading operation from the line buffer 23 and the identification operation of the document image identification means 25 based on the image data thus read out. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
